Who We Are

Putting our faith into action

With passion for the church and for the world

We are are in the Lutheran tradition on a common journey of renewal. We strive to put our faith into action within and beyond the communion, and seek God’s Word and Spirit to guide us.

We strive to put our faith into action within and beyond the communion, and seek God’s Word and Spirit to guide us.

This action takes a variety of forms from theological reflection and dialogue with other churches and faiths, to deepening relationships, sharing about our faith, serving those in need and advocating for a more just, peaceful and reconciled world.

We share a vision, purpose and values. We work to strengthen our relationships and build an inclusive, respectful communion. We are on a common journey of renewal shaped and enriched by the different contexts within which we live.

  • Faith: Without faith, it is impossible to please God. We value devotion to the Lordship of Christ, seeking after His will, and boldness based on confidence in His sovereign power.
  • Jesus is Lord of all: Christ is at the centre of all LCR s ministry and proclamation.
  • Worship: Corporate worship is LCR’s highest commitment and will be expressed by sharing the faith with others throughout the week.
  • Excellence: Our Lord is honoured when our efforts evidence care, love, wisdom, thoughtfulness, knowledge and skill.
  • Service: We value humbled service to our believers and others in Christ’s name given free in response to the Love of God. God’s people of LCR are called to serve family, church, community, and Rwandans through continuous outreach and mission.
  • Community: We believe spiritual, personal and capacity developments are best achieved within the context of a warm Christian community that together worships and glorifies God.
